Sparkles is a remake of the 1976 film of the same name starring Philip Michael Thomas, Irene Cara and Lonette McKee. The film is inspired by The Supremes, the 1950's group comprising three singing teenage sisters from Harlem. Sparkles is also Whitney Houston's final film role. She died on February 11, 2012.

He signed on with Motown giant, Berry Gordy, Jr one year later in 1962. He has been a staunch activist for many humanitarian and peace causes since the 1980s. Through his career, Wonder would take home 15 Grammy awards.
