Born to Raymond Berenger V, the Count of Provence, and his wife, Beatrice of Savoy, were Marguerite, Eleanor, Sanchia and Beatrice. The Provencal sisters became the queens of France, England, Germany and Sicily.Beatrice of Savoy exemplifies the old adage, "The hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world."
