What was the Motivation of Pope Urban II for the Crusades? A quick look at primary sources.
This Hub is a look at possible motivations for Pope Urban II and his call to the Crusades. I use some primary text sources to make my point. Obviously, this is a life-long study, but well worth it because we can piece together so many problems that have filtered down to today's international relations.
2 commentsThe Byzantine Woman of the Crusades
This is a fictional account of what it was like for a Byzantine (Greek) woman during the Crusades. Little known and little studied by Historians, I have used factual history to develop Simonis' story. Of course, the end, with Vlad Tepes, Count Dracula and PBS are not true. Inspired by a fellow hubber today, I found this story I had written long ago in my files and share with you. Enjoy!

It is only when I started exploring sources other than the Bible that I came to know many things which I feel are sometimes deliberately and sometimes inadvertently concealed about Jesus. I share my understanding and thoughts here for the benefit of those who would like to explore.
0 commentsThe Book of Revelation Lives On
In her new book, “Revelations: Visions, Prophecy and Politics in the Book of Revelation”, Elaine Pagels presents what is in my mind the only plausible interpretation of the Book of Revelation. Instead of reading it as a description of the...
8 commentsThe History of the World According to God
synopsis: As I consider how the Bible describes the activities of God on our earth through the millennia since creation, I must conclude that either God has failed in achieving any kind of coherent plan, or man has been behind all of these acts which have popularly been attributed to God. This is a bit (but not completely) tongue in cheek, so don't get too worked up about it.
