The war on terror has had two major effects. One is the increased military budget and activity around the world and the other is a sharp decrease in civil liberties. One in obvious for the looking at the news and the other is covert. Many people think they still have civil liberties, but as we can see unfolding in protest movements all over the Americas, it's becoming clearer that we do not.
