They were bred to be a faithful and loving guardian, but their loyalty is often answered with disregard for their health when breeding for 'the Shar Pei look'! Why do we forget what is important and stick to superficial 'looks', instead of appreciating what these loving dogs have to offer!? My sincere respect goes out to those breeders that are preserving a part of Chinese history and loyal dog and strive to breed them healthy and happy!
