The Osprey is another beautiful member of the raptor family. Quite widespread around the world, they are located on all continents except for Antarctica. Also known the Sea Hawk or the Fish Hawk, the diet of the Osprey consists almost exclusively of fish. For this reason they can be found near bodies of water such as rivers, marshes, lakes, and seashores.

Birds of Prey - The Red Tail Hawk

As one of the most common hawks in North America most of us have probably at one time or another seen one of these majestic birds perched high atop a tree. Desert Living, Desert Reflections81

Desert Living, Desert Reflections

One day I found what I thought might be part of an arrowhead. It is a piece of shiny black obsidian with chiseled marks on both sides. A man from the natural history museum told me upon examination that it was a chip from a larger piece being formed, most likely a tomahawk. He said that if I looked in the area where I’d found it that I would surely find more. He also said that I am very fortunate to be living on this land.
