As in the previous articles of this series, in this Part 8 I write about two specific Tangos, Golondrinas and El Dia que Me Quieras, both composed and sung by Carlos Gardel, using lyrics by Alfredo LePera. I have also included some examples of the Fileteado street art, which is very much a part of the Tango scene in Buenos Aires. Both Tangos were included in films by Gardel, produced shortly before his death in 1935.

I review some of the musical structures in Cuesta Abajo and Lejana Tierra Mia, and offer a free translation of the lyrics. Several fileteado decorations are shown, that are typical of the streets of Buenos Aires. Also included are two videos with scenes from the corresponding films.
