Through alliances Temujin was able to dispose of rivals and gradually weld together a force capable of subjugating the Naiman and Kereit tribes. His leadership was confirmed in 1206, when he was acclaimed Genghis Khan. Masters of cavalry tactics and ruthless in war, the Mongols were all-victorious under Genghis's command.
