The lead is a by product of small scale gold mining that is being done to enhance prosperity. The extremely high rate of lead poisoning in this region of Northern Nigeria is having the unintended consequence of damaging and killing people, especially small children.

He studies art at the University of Arizona in Tucson and studied in Mexico with Diego Rivera and Jose Clemente Orozco.
