Blue Whale - Largest Mammal Ever Lived58

Blue Whale - Largest Mammal Ever Lived

Whale is a huge mammal that lives in the sea. One of the species - the blue whale, is the largest animal that ever lived. It reaches a length of nearly 100 feet and weighs, about 200 tons. Whales differ from fish in several ways. Their tail fins are horizontal, whereas those of fish are vertical. They are warm-blooded and breathe oxygen from the water through lungs. Fish are cold-blooded and extract oxygen from the water through their gills. Whales give birth to young ones whereas fish lay eggs.

Worldwide Whale Watching

Whales are beautiful creatures, there's no doubt about this. But they are under threat, in fact they've been under threat for years. What I'm trying to promote is sustainable whale watching. This means watching whales in their natural habitats at a safe distance without distrubing them. I would also urge you to support Planet Whale and WhaleFest, which are all under the umbrella of sustainable whale watching. Take a look at www.planetwhale.com to find out more.
