World War 1 History: The Medium Mark A Whippet Tank
In 1918, the last year of World War I, the British introduced the Medium Mark A Whippet, a light and relatively fast tank armed with four machine guns. It was used to exploit holes in the lines created by its much heavier and slower heavy cousins, the Mark IV and Mark V tanks. During that time, they established themselves as one of the best tanks of the war.
