The beautiful Risnjak National Park gets its name from the extraordinary Lynx, who lives in the Park. The 63.5 km park has an amazing sampling of botanical floral and fauna, including edelweiss, and a wide variety of trees. At a weather crossroads, it experiences heavy rain and snow (good for skiiers) and ideal summer temperatures. It is also a mecca for research botanists and nature lovers, who take the Leska tour for 4.5 kms of info and recreation. Entrance is on the east at Crni Lug.
