4 Inch Tablets - Mini Internet Android Tablets

Updated on November 27, 2012

Tablets with a 4 Inch Screen Size

A small tablet with a screen size of 4 inches, or maybe 4.3 inches, is a good choice if you want a tablet that you can put in your pocket. 4 inch tablets are often cheaper than larger tablets because a smaller screen costs less. If you have access to a Wifi internet connection, you can use your tablet for internet access, instead of a cell phone, so you don't have the additional expense of a monthly data plan.

A small tablet with a high resolution screen and a fast processor is a good choice for browsing the web, playing games, watching video, etc. It's very portable!

Just in: Now there are 5 inch tablet/phone hybrids called "Phablets".

It has a lot of features, including: - HD Camera & Camcorder - Android 2.2 Froyo - Adobe Flash 10 Compatibility - Connect to your TV with the HDMI-out port - Built in stand

Should I buy a tablet or a smartphone?

Phones require a contract, internet tablets don't.

Many smartphones have screen sizes that are about 4 inches, so you might wonder why have a tablet when you can just buy a phone? The reason to have a tablet instead of a phone, is to save money! A phone requires a cell phone contract with a data plan that often costs $20-$40 a month. If you buy a tablet instead, you don't have to have a contract.

The downside of having a wifi tablet only is that you can only use it where there is a wifi network. You might have a wifi network at home (all you need is an internet connection and a wireless router), and you might find wifi networks that you can connect to at the library, airport, cafes, etc. Your workplace I might even have a wifi network. Wifi networks are also called "hot spots."

Personally, I have a smartphone, but to buy everyone in my family a smartphone would make my monthly cell phone bill very expensive. Therefore, I'm thinking that a small tablet would be ideal for many people who are in my situation - trying to save money! Kids and younger people often have no problem using a 4 inch sized phone or tablet. Older people probably would enjoy a larger tablet though. I'd recommend a 7 inch or 10 inch tablet for a grandparent or other elderly person.
