ASUS Eee PC 1001PX-EU17-WT Reviews

While some people need netbooks for ultimate portability, some need netbooks for some basic tasks like web browsing and e-mailing. If you are such a sort of person, then the new ASUS Eee PC 1001PX-EU17-WT 10.1-Inch Netbook (White) is probably the right product for you as it takes almost all boxes. This netbook has only been launched by ASUS and already there is a lot of interest surrounding it. This is because it has a very low price tag of just $ 240, which is incredible considering the prices of other laptops that hover in the high $ 500.

You might think that because of the very low price tag, this netbook will totally be useless in many areas. However, if you think like that, then you will be wrong because the netbook has a 1.66 GHz processor that is coupled with a 1 GB DDR2 SODIMM memory. If you find this to be very low, you can also expand it to 2 GB and it is optional. You get a 160GB SATA Hard Drive along with this netbook, but optical drives like the DVD or CD drives miss out. To be fair, it would be daft to expect any more than this from a netbook in this price range.

You get a 10.1 inch display as standard and this is not a normal LCD, but instead it is a LED unit. The battery life of this netbook is pretty decent at almost 4 hours since it uses the Intel Atom N450 processor. The Acer Aspire AOD255-2331 10.1 inch Netbook is the netbook that comes remotely close to the ASUS netbook. It runs on the old Windows XP Home edition with SP3. Other aspects of this netbook are similar to the ASUS netbook, but it is priced a little bit higher.
