Are Curved TVs Just a Marketing Gimmick? Are They Worth It?
Samsung and other TV manufacturers say that curved TVs provide a cinema-like experience, with the so-called wrap-around effect. I read a lot of reviews both by professional tech reviewers and by average users and most lean toward the negative: they say there's a sweet spot right in the middle of a curved TV so from other angles you won't be able to enjoy it; curved TVs distort the image; they are too expensive; you need bigger screens to experience the wrap-around effect. Reviewers do admit that curved TVs reduced reflections.
