Canon Photo Printer Reviews 2016

Updated on November 9, 2015

Canon produces very high quality cameras and photo scanners, it is therefor no surprise that they also have the best photo printers on the market. Canon's photo printers are all part of the PIXMA range of printers.

These PIXMA printers can be divided into 3 categories:

  • Professional photo printers - This would be for office use as well as use by professional photographers. These printers print higher quality photos and tend to be more expensive than the printers in the other 2 categories.
  • Home photo printers - This is the cheapest option. The printouts are still of reasonably good quality.
  • All in one photo printers - They can print, fax and scan documents.

I have selected some of the best-selling models in each of the categories and briefly reviewed them in Canon photo printer reviews 2016.

Canon Pixma PRO9500MkII Inkjet Photo Printer

The Cannon PIXMA PRO 9500MkII Inkjet Photo Printer is 14 x 26 x 7.4 inches and weighs 33.4 pounds, it can print photos up to 13 x 19 inches. This printer is equipped with the Lucia Ink System that has ten full color pigments, including gray, black, and matte black inks. These 3 inks produce monochrome photographs of very high quality.

This printer has fantastic resolution. It has 4800 x 1200 maximum color dpi, with the help of Cannon Full-Photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering; better known as FINE. The printer can produce beautiful color photos, as well as black and white photographs. Another attribute is the Ambient Light Correction, which modifies the color in the photo to match the lighting condition of the room you are viewing the pictures in.

This printer prints your pictures without borders. Even pictures up to 13 x 19 inches will come out borderless. The PRO9500 has a feature called Auto Photo Fix that corrects the color in the photographs to produce beautiful images. This feature will categorize your photograph into one of five categories; Portrait, Scenery, Night Scenery, Snapshot with Scenery, and Snapshot with Night Scenery. The printer then automatically brightens images and corrects color if you want it to.

Another feature is that the printer has two-way paper feeding. It holds photo paper in the back, and thicker paper in the front. You can print photos from your computer, or directly from your phone, camera, or camcorder.

In my opinion the Canon Pixma PRO9500MkII prints the highest quality and does so very consistently.

It might not look like much but the Pro9000 is a powerful photo printer
