When Canon introduced the Canon PowerShot G9 in October 2007, they made a upgrade to the existing G7. After listinening to the complaints and suggestions of their customers, the PowerShot G9 was designed with the customer in mind and as such, they ended up with a great camera.
Some of the more notable features would be the 12 MegaPixel resolution, a large 3" LCD screen, as well as the DIGIC III image processor for sharp images.
The G9 is designed to give you the power of a larger digital SLR, but in a smaller, more convenient package.
