Five youtube videos guaranteed to make me smile

Updated on February 26, 2012

Sometimes when I'm having a rotten day and I'm on my own, I like to turn to the internet to cheer myself up. I might go on George Takei's facebook page and have a laugh at the hilarious pictures he posts (usually accompanied by cringe worthy by puns), or switch my brain off and play a few free games online. However, youtube is my favourite place, if only for the sheer volume of entertainment available.

This isn't necessarily the best of youtube, but these are videos I've returned to time and again, and ones I'd definitely recommend if you need a pick me up.

Madeon- Pop Culture Dance Video from nathanjbarnatt

This video inspired me to write this hub. When it was first released I watched it 3 times the first day and I've seen it countless times since because it really does make me smile. It's the perfect combination; a fantastic song from youtube user madeon- which first appeared in another video I love -and Nathan Barnatt, the funniest man on the internet.

Nathan has done lots of hilarious videos and he has some fantastic characters but this is my favorite of the lot. He's a great dancer and does some brilliant moves, plus the video is beautifully edited. If you only watch one of these videos then make it this.

Ultimate Dog Tease by klaatu42

Klaatu42 has a number of videos on his channel Talking Animals but this is my favorite by far. The dog is cute and the punchline is hilarious.

The video has had more than 95 million views and it's now being developed into a movie.

Black Ops- Jimmy on a Roll by ENGRunningRobbo

This not such a well known video, but I love it. It's such a simple, silly joke, but what really makes me crack a smile is the laughter of the boy in the video. It's infectious!

Otters holding hands by InformationalVideos

This is so cute! There's not much to the video but the otters are adorable. They hold hands so that they don't drift apart when they are asleep on the water but I like to pretend it's because they're in love. Aww.

Baby Laughing Hysterically at Ripping Paper by BruBearBaby

BruBearBaby has lots of videos of baby Micah laughing but this is the most popular, with 38 million views. This video has another infectious laugh and Micah is such a gorgeous little baby. It's guaranteed to make me smile.
