When you get this message it can be a pain to figure out how to get Chrome to save your preferences and settings. If you want to fix the “your preference cannot be read message” in Google Chrome, then you will want to log out of your Administrative page and go onto your guest account. You can do this by going to the bottom left corner of your screen and clicking start. At the bottom of the start menu you will have the option to logoff or turn off computer. You want to click logoff. When you click logoff you should be given the option to either logoff or switch user. You want to switch user and go to your guest account. You are now one step closer to fixing the “your preference cannot be read” in Google Chrome.

Once you are in your guest account you will want to uninstall Google Chrome and then reinstall Google Chrome. Once Chrome is reinstalled you can choose your settings and preferences. Then you can head back over to your main account, the administrator account. Once you are back in the administrator account you will want to install Google Chrome. Once Chrome is installed the “your preference cannot be read” message should not appear anymore.
