Hardware components of PC

Building Computer

Computer is made up of multiple components like Windows XP, software etc. It contains motherboard and installed system software called as operating system. There are two types of computers, such as analog computers and digital computers (use discrete states).

Associated Hardware

The various hardware associated with computer are monitor, motherboard, CPU, RAM, Expansion Card, Power supply, Optical Disk Drive, Hard disk Drive, Keyboard and mouse. The Mother Board is the main component, consisting of CPU, RAM and Disk Drives etc. The output devices of computer are Printers, speakers and your monitor which can be CRT, LCD, LED, or OLED.

Stuff Which Make PC

The stuff which makes a PC falls into two categories, Software and Hardware. In simple word any object which you can see or touch on your PC is hardware, and everything else is software. Thus in our PC, the hardware which we can figure out are PC Case, Motherboard, Power Supply, Hard Disk Drive (HDD), Floppy Disk Drive (FDD), Compact Disk Drive (CDD), Digital Video Disk Drive (DVD), Monitor (CRT and LCD), Keyboard, Mouse, Audio, Cables and Wires.

Accessories

In all of our modern day accessories like automobiles, microwave oven, electrocardiograph machine, compact disk player and other devices, Computer Hardware is an integrated part and embedded namely Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, Printer and Digital circuitry. Computer is a machine which can perform number of tasks. It accepts, store, and process data and gives the desired output. Computer accepts data by input devices like keyboard, mouse etc and output obtained with the device called monitor, printers and plotters.

Data Storage

The storage device in the computer is RAM (Random Access Memory), it is volatile by nature. It means once the light has been is switched off, data will be lost. Therefore there is a need to store data into storage devices like floppy disk, hard disks, CD ROMs or Pen drives (Flash memory storage device) before switching off.

Ports

PC has many ports and connectors; it connects CPU with various storage devices as mentioned above. The various ports are such as parallel ports (LPT Ports), Serial ports, USB (Universal Serial Bus) Port, FireWire Port, PS/2 Port, Monitor sockets, Audio speaker and Microphone sockets. A single port transmits serially one bit at a time. A parallel port transmits 8 bits in parallel, as one bit in one go. In case of USB and Fire Wire port, there is a faster storage transfer and they also possess plug and play features.

In nutshell PC is single microprocessor, single user system.
