Audio Set Up

For the audio setup I would suggest a Onkyo Audio Receiver preferably this one Onkyo TX-SR3048 Its a decent receiver and will do well for what we would use it for! The cost is not bad ether!

For the Front and Back Stereo speakers I suggest you go to craigs list and get a set of old cerwin vegas. They are great speakers good bass and have nice mid's and high's. You can get 4 of these for around 150-200 bucks.

For your Satellite speakers its up in the air. Alot of people say POLK are good speakers. I have never owned any polk products so I dont know I have the Klipsch Synergy Quintet III Home Theater Speaker Syste. It comes with the 4 Satellite speakers and the 1 center channel

For your Sub-woofer I suggest the Yamaha YST-SW315. Its a nice hard hitting sub with very good bass response.

All in all your looking at spending about 800 dollars for the audio setup if you go with this guide. I do have this setup and believe me this setup will blow pretty much any of the competitions all in one systems that go for 1500-2500

Computer Setup

The best one to store and watch HD content in my opinion is on a Home Theater PC. You can have a HD player, HDDVR,(with more room then one you get from the cable company) DvD/Blue Ray/Cd Burner, Internet, and Gaming all on this one machine that you would only pay about 1000 dollars for if you can build it your self.

So before I built my first HTPC I did allot of research on the Internet. There were allot of guides out there but none really covered on what I wanted, a hybrid pc for gaming and a HTPC. So I did my research and find out the best components for a HTPC and HD GAMING.

Motherboard I would suggest the Asus P5QPL-VM EPU/Core 2 Quad/Intel G41 Its a Great starter board with on Board 7.1 Audio and optical out not to mention HDMI out and the motherboard can handle watching 1080p Videos without lagging up :D!

New MB I just installed for a friend and its a amzing MB its called the Zotac GF9300-A-E its a amazing mb for the price HDMI out Geforce 9300 chip can play 1080p and it has digital audio out amazing MB with the option to have 16gb of RAM WOW! cant go wrong with this one fokes.

CPU. Now I suggest the intel core 2 duo 3.0ghz Cpu I have had it for a year now and it has not failed me yet. I can run wow on it while watching T3 in HD on Media Player Classic. I also play FallOut 3 and Cs Source on it along with allot of other top end games and I have not maxed out CPU usage yet. I got it about a year ago at Micro Center on sale for 148 dollars! now is that a duel or what? It's a great cpu to OC with ease too and would be great for anybody to use in a HTPC :D

Ram. I would suggest the Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 4gb Ram the kit comes with 2 2gb ram sticks. Decent Ram!

For your Hardrive's I suggest 2 Segate Barcuda 1Tb sata HDs and if you wanted to go the distance get a WD Raptor 150gb or 300gb and have it as the man HD with your OS on and it your Games and put your movies on the other 2. 10000 RPM for a HD is insane.

Computer Case. Now this is were I disagreed with most of the guides getting a small ity bitty hide away case for your HTPC. They say it's so small there will be hardly any noise compared to a 5 Fan running tower antec 900 gaming case. Will let me tell you It's not that loud when you're just browsing the Internet but the kicker is When im in CS source fraging peps or watching Dirty Hairy I cant hear those fans over the cop sirens and the bombs so it should not be a problem. Plus Im one of those guys that like to show of my stuff and I like my Case shining blue for everyone to see and say O WOW NICE CASE. Sorry for the rant LOL But i suggest ether the Antec 900 or if you want a huge monster go with the Antec 1200 :D

Now Sound Card if you do not like the onboard mother board I would suggest going with a HT Omega Soundcard. They are the best soundcards out there 100xs better then Creative My personal fav is the HT | OMEGA CLARO 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI. Its A great soundcard with Great Drivers!

Video Card. If you also do not like the onboard video I suggest going with a SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X 100269VXL Radeon HD 4890 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16! Has a HDMI Output and is GREAT FOR GAMING and watching HD videos!

Power Supply. I suggest going with the Thermaltake W0116RU Toughpower 750W! It's a great power supply and will last you till 2012 :D Great for all your computer power needs!

Blu Ray Player. Lg makes the best ones out there that imo. I love my LG Super Multi Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD-ROM Drive (GGC-H20L) Bought it about 2 weeks ago and it is AWESOME! Not only can I watch Blu Ray on it, I can buy the cheap HD DVDS and watch on it too!

OS I have heard great things about windows 7 and That is what I'm gonna go next month is windows 7 64 Bit

Also when you buy your PC items don't forget to get your cables and other stuff you need :D

TV

Now Im not a guru in HDTVS! I have only owned 2 and i got to say I did alot of reading on the Tvs and out of my 2 LGS is the best by far in quality and support. Let me tell you a little story One day i come home and my 42 inch LG plasma would not turn on.  I called LG support line and they set up for someone to come fix it at no cost to me (KEEP YOUR RECITE YOU WILL NEED IT FOR WARRANTY REPAIR)3 Days after I called LG they had a LG tech in my house and had my tv fixed in 30 minutes! NOW THATS SERVICE consider I live in the country! So i Suggest a LG TV  Plasmas are Great with computers IMO better then the LG 32 LCD I have :D
