How To Activate Text To Speech On iPhone
This is a such a convenient feature on the iPhone and every iPhone consumer and potential customer must know how to get this facility. It really redefines the way we read materials on a website or app.
The 'Text to Speech' function will make the iOS read out any piece of text that you highlight on your smartphone screen. This is going to be a great way to rest your eyes and also make sure that you don't accidentally doze off while reading an especially long article.
1. Go to Settings >> General >> Accessibility
2. Tap on Speak Selection
After tapping 'Accessibility'
3. Slide the option to ON and there you go!
There is an option to adjust the dialect to whatever you like: Australian English, British English, Irish English, South African English... even Español (España), España (Mexico), Français (France) and more... You can also adjust the Speaking Rate and the text will be record according to the speed you select.
And there is also the option to highlight words as they are spoken.
4. Now simply go to any website, touch and hold the text area and an option will appear for you to either 'Copy' or 'Speak'.
The highlighted area can be adjusted to select the text that you want the iOS to read. After selecting appropriately, tap the Speak button.
5. It's not just websites that your iOS will read out.
Even the documents on your iPhone can be read.
Master Major Foreign Languages
The great thing about this feature is that it can even read foreign languages like this piece on the Italian website El Economista. Now learning a foreign language and pronunciations has become so much easier and fun!
