How To Add Apps In iPod Touch On iTunes

You can download applications for the iPhone or iPod touch in the App Store. Purchases are made through iTunes Store account but many applications are free.

To download applications for the iPhone and iPod touch:

  1. In iTunes, click the iTunes Store.
  2. In iTunes Store, near the top of the homepage, click App Store.
  3. Find an application and click "Buy Application" (if it is free, click on "Get application").

How to sync apps to iPod Touch for i Tunes:

To sync apps from iPod Touch to iTunes you have to take the following 3 steps:

  1. Connect the iPhone or iPod touch to your computer.
  2. In iTunes, select iPhone or iPod touch (Devices), and click the Applications tab.
  3. Select "Sync Applications" and then select the applications you want to synchronize.

If you have iPhone OS System 3.1 or later, you can also do the following:

  1. Drag applications from the list on the left to the home screen on the right.
  2. Organize the device home screen by dragging the icons of the applications until the position where you want them to appear.
  3. Click Apply and then Sync.

Downloaded applications may only be used in the iPhone or iPod touch (not on the computer). If you are connected to a 3G network or Wi-Fi, you can also buy applications directly from the iPhone or iPod touch (some may not work on all devices). For more information, see the documentation that came with your iPhone or iPod touch.

New iPhone Applications

Every day I am more convinced that both the iPhone and iTouch are virtually a pocket PC. If the rumored Apple iTablet finally becomes a reality, with a few additional features to the iPhone and an appropriate size, we can predict a resounding success. This week I was installing on my iTouch a few new applications to continue adding more value than it already has. I'll share them here with you:

  1. Zinio: The company that brought the PC to electronic journals, now on your iPhone / iTouch. In the past I used Zinio on my PC, but I have to admit I feel uncomfortable reading a magazine on the laptop. Instead, do it in the iTouch and, as a bonus, anywhere else is an excellent choice. At the moment the selection of journals to subscribe is limited, but I imagine that soon Zinio include the enormous collection of magazines of all kinds in the application portable. Free in the App Store.
  2. Backgrounder: It is a new application, but it is the first time use. It gives the iPhone / iTouch the ability to run applications in the "background" role that long ago should have been incorporated into both devices natively. Available in Cydia.
  3. Bing: The Microsoft search engine in an Apple device, great for searching images, is well adapted to the environment of iPhone / iTouch, as well as being visually attractive. Free in the App Store.
  4. LeechTunes: Alternative to music application native iPhone / iTouch, with the news that you can control all functions with gestures of your fingers and moving the device. It also has "skins" and a very attractive interface. Available on the App Store.
  5. Dock 1.0.1: It adds to our dock style device a "stack" similar to OS X; additional, combined with "Backgrounder" lets you know what applications are running and have the option to disable them. Excellent to create shortcuts to your applications. Available in Cydia.

If you want you can share your experiences with these applications here as well.

The most convenient and secure way is to use an iPod-to-computer transfer program which will help you.
It's very easy to use. When you plug your iPod to the computer, this program will display all songs and videos on the iPod instantly. You simply select what you wish to transfer and click "Copy" button. And it's done. All your selected files will be copied to your computer completely and safely. Now you can easily add those songs and videos to your iTunes library.
It even has step-by-step guide on the whole process which you can follow.

Thank you for reading my hub. I tried my best so that when someone asks you "how to add apps to iPod touch from iTunes on my computer?", you will be able to answer this easy question without any problems.

Hi, This was helpful except I don't see what you see. How do you show the iPod screen on your pc? I have several apps on the side panel but there is no app tab on the top. I transfer photos and it deletes the ones I have already installed. I only have iGoogle to make this thing even slightly useful. HELP, thanks, sis

hmm, that's strange. Have you watched the video about how you have to first sync the apps in your ipad to the iTunes library so they don't get deleted? The video says how to do that.
