How To Assign A Static IP To My PC

Remember a Static IP never changes. 


For Windows Vista Click Here


Find out what your current IP address is: Follow this tutorial to find out how

Step 1: Click on —> Start

Step 2: Click on —> Control Panel

Note: If you see this window:

Click on switch to Classic View

Step 3: Click on —> Network Connections

Step 4: Right Click your connection, and select Properties

Step 5: Select —> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and click on Properties

Step 6: Click on —> Use the following IP Address. Change the IP Address to whatever you want it to be. Fill in the rest of the address from the ones you got from the tutorial at the top.

Step 7: Click on —> OK, and the Click on —> OK

Step 8: Done. If you check your IP address now it should be set to the one you put in.


For Windows Vista

Step 1: Click on —> Start

Step 2: Click on —> Control Panel

Note: If you see this window:

Click on switch to Classic View

Step 3: Click on —> Network and Sharing Center

Step 4: Click on —> Manage Network Connections (It’s on the left hand side of the window)

Step 5: Select your Network Connection and right click it. Now click on —> Properties.

Step 6: Select —> Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and click on Properties

Step 7: Click on —> Use the following IP Address. Change the IP Address to whatever you want it to be. Fill in the rest of the address from the ones you got from the tutorial at the top.

Step 8: Click on —> OK, and the Click on —> OK

Step 9: Done. If you check your IP address now it should be set to the one you put in.

NOTE: Remember not to assign this IP to another device in your network, or else conflicts will occur in your network and those devices might not work properly.
