How to: Connect PC to TV

Lets face it, many of us download movies off various sources, but at times you might feel that the small computer monitor ain't good enough, but did you know that you can connect your PC to your LCD TV? And that too very easily?

Well, just in case you want to watch your movies on your 42" screen or you want to play your favorite games on the big screen (which looks awesome btw), just hook up your Laptop or desktop to your TV by following a few easy steps.

Step 1 : Connectivity options

First check what video outputs you have on your Laptop/Desktop. Newer PCs come with HDMI,which is the best option, but in case you have an Old desktop/laptop, you will have to use D-Sub or DVI.

Now see what options you got on your TV. You will generally have HDMI,DVI and D-Sub, so this should not be an issue.

Step 2: The Right Cable

Now you need a cable to connect your PC to your TV, if you will be using HDMI, then you will need an HDMI cable. Good quality ones can cost a bomb, but I don't think you really need them. If you are connecting using D-Sub or DVI, you will need the respective cables, but also an 2.5mm audio cable (both side male connectors) to get audio. Connect one side to the speaker/headphone out of your PC to the audio in in your TV.

Step 3: Have fun!

All you need to do now is select the correct input in your TV and thats it, have fun watching your HD movies and gaming on your TV! For a more detailed explanation, have a look at the guide below:
