How to Leave a Facebook Group
Facebook groups are a great way to show your support for a cause, or meet people who share common interests with you. However, there may come a time when you need to leave a group on Facebook. Leaving a Facebook group is fairly simple and straightforward; yet some people never leave a group once they join it. Sometimes, groups on Facebook start spamming their members. Or, it may be possible that you know longer want to be associated with the group. Follow these simple steps to leave a group on Facebook and delete the group from your profile.
First, log in to Facebook. Then, on the left side, click the link for "Groups." This page will show you all of the groups that you belong to, as well as a few groups your friends have joined.
Find the group you wish to unjoin. This may be fairly difficult if you have joined hundreds of groups, but eventually you will find it. They should be in order of when you joined the group. Scroll through and then click the link to the group. This will take you to the group's page on Facebook. Once you are on the group's page, scroll down about halfway. On the left hand side under the box listing the group's members is a link that says "Leave Group." Click that link and you will be removed from the group. Remember that if it is a group you created, and you are the last member, the group will be deleted.
An alternate way to do this is to go to your profile, click "Info," and at the bottom should be a list of all the groups you are a member of. Click the group name and then follow the same steps listed above (clicking "leave group"). That's all there is - you will now no longer be associated with the group. Once you are finished, you can return to Facebook's main page and start joining other groups.
