How to do mobile uploads on facebook
You need to know
If you use Facebook a lot, and I'm sure many people are like me and are online all the time, than you've probably ran into this problem before. Once you're not at your computer anymore, things get complicated, so here's my best 3 ways to do mobile uploads on Facebook!
Easiest way, the e-mail option!
You're still on your computer when reading this right? If so just sign in to Facebook and go to http://www.facebook.com/#!/mobile/
You'll see under the Upload Via Email text an email address ending in @m.facebook.com, that's your personal email address do don't give that away to anyone you don't trust. All you have to do from this point on is to setup and email account on your phone, if you don't have one already, and write an email to your personal email address that has:
- email subject: a caption if you attach a photo or video to the email, or your new status if you just want to update your status and don't attach anything
- attachment: photo or video to upload from your phone (optional)
The mobile Facebook site
This one requires a phone with a browser and a decent internet connection (Wi-fi, 3G, GPRS). First thing you have to do is go to http://m.facebook.com/ and find the "Photos" link, it's near the bottom of the page under "Bookmarks". Next you have to click the "Upload Photos" link. Click the "Choose File" button to select a picture from your phone's memory and then enter a caption for it if you want. Last thing you have to do is click the "Upload" button and you're done.
There's an app for this too!
Depending on your phone brand and model you've got a pretty big chance to find an app that can help you through all of this, of course you will have to install it first. Facebook offers official apps for:
And of course there are other 3rd party apps you could try if you're phone is not listed, most of them free and you're bound to find one that works on any phone that supports J2ME.
