Looking for a great Intel motherboard to compliment the new CPU that you are looking at or already purchased? You aren't alone. Intel's new 2nd generation of "i" series have left me a raving fan and because of that I recently purchased the Intel i7-2600k CPU as an upgrade for my photoshop, gaming, and movie watching addiction.

Because of the various research I've done around the web I decided I'd write a top 10 list of the best Intel motherboards I've come across while in my search.

Top Rated 1155 Motherboards Reviewed

This is a top 10 list for 1155 motherboards. If you're looking for a 1366 or 1156 motherboard, then see my article on the best 1156 and 1366 motherboards for 2011. I've also written an article on top motherboards sorted by Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI Motherboards brands.

Bestselling 1155 Motherboard - Asus P8Z68-V-PRO

If you're a performance enthusiast and need all the bells and whistles for design or gaming, then the Asus P8Z68-V-PRO is a great motherboard in a moderate price range of about $200. It allows you to easily overclock your CPU and Memory while still giving you all the bells and whistles you need to make a performance machine. It has a great balance between Sata 6Gb/s and Sata 3Gb/s with 4 of each making it easy for you to use your old hard drive or SSD now and then upgrade later. Additional specifications include support for up to 4 8GB DDR Dimm Sticks which can be overclocked at up to 2200 speed. 2 USB 3.0 ports and 6 USB 2.0 ports allow you to use all of your newest devices while still having plenty of room for your old ones.

Best Value 1155 Motherboard - ASRock P67 Extreme4

It's hard to ignore the 5 star ratings on this board across this the Internet for this board. Some of it has to do with the reliability and ease of setup that many people have found and some of it has to do with the incredible features you get for this board for around $50 less.

The ASRock P67 Extreme4 was a recommended buy from Tom's Hardware for just this reason. It comes with support for up to 4 8B DDR3 Dimm sticks at up to 2133 speed (overclocked). For those looking for a multi-GPU setup it comes with support for Quad CrossfireX and Quad SLI.

Additional specifications for this motherboard include 2 USB 3.0, 6 USB 2.0, 4 Sata 3Gb/s, and 4 Sata 6Gb/s ports. It also comes with a 2 years manufacturer's warranty.

In connection with your top pick motherboard, the P8Z68-V PRO, I found this block diagram on a review of the board ( Hope links are allowed! )

Does that graphic mean that if I got this board, Sandy Bridge K CPU and no other graphic card ie Using the on-board GPU, that any memory could only run at 1333 MHz? I was kinda hoping the Z68 would have been better than the H68 which was also limited to 1333MHz :-\

OK Brandon I just thought those were the best specs it could attain and thus with a seperate graphics card. I think then that is the board for me.
