Knoji; Factoidz by another name
On March 19th I received the following email:
In the next week, we'll be unveiling a
brand new version of Factoidz.The
new site will have a beautiful design,
and will be packed with awesome
features that truly enhance the
experience for both writers and
readers. We've selected you as one
of our most trusted members who
exemplifies the best qualities of a
great writer and community member
- and would like to invite you to
preview our new and improved version of Factoidz.
We're also contacting you because as one of our most
trusted community members, we'd also like to ask if you'd
be interested in becoming a Moderator on our new site.
Your abilities as a writer will remain unchanged, but as a
Moderator you'll have new abilities to modify, edit and
remove content and overall help us maintain a high level
of content quality. You'll also be featured prominently
as a Moderator and will carry that title across the site.
Let Me Announce:
I am one of the many, many people who was dropped from Staff Writer (where I earned the higher revenue) to Member (where I earn nothing) on Factoidz. My writing was confiscated.
My writing was not deleted, my writing was stolen. My articles remained on Factoidz, gaining revenue, a great deal of revenue for the site as well as adding credibility.
As my work was of such caliber, the Owner and Only Employee, Mike Quac,
captured it. This is not unusual. The best writers are ripped off, the mundane
kept as Shills.
At the bottom of this article were a number of comments loudly, and most believably, disputing what I have written.
(In fact, from the moment this article was published, until I was
forced to remove the Comment Capsule, there were so many
offensive comments written by 'guests' it was evident Quac
had sent his shills to attack me. This is a hallmark of the
Factoidz culture. Steal writer's work then blame them.
Each Shill, who on pain of demotion is impelled to attack
any detractor, using as many duals as they can).
This practice ended as EVERYONE who wrote for Factoidz was ripped off.
My story is not unique. There is an ever increasing number persons who have written for Factoidz who share my story.
Many people are easily conned by Factoidz. Its' Shill can be found in any Forum where you'll see attacks made on those who complain about being ripped off. Their usual restort is:
"You were kicked off for Breaking the Rules!!"
How would a member of a site know what transpired between that member and the owner? Especially on a site as secretive as Factoidz?
In a Search Box type Factoidz+rip off. On March 23, 2012 at 12:23 my time I got 77,800 hits.
Factoidz+scam done on the same date at 12:25 returned 34,300 hits. This is rather a high number; (on some days even higher).
Considering the number of complaints made against Factoidz, it appears that those who live in the United States and file a complaint get paid, those who do not live in the United States are targetted; in short, if you do not live in the United States writing for Faictodz is serving yourself for lunch.
As is clear, Factoidz was a Ponzi scheme.
Revenue gained from the 'Member' articles are used to pay other writers; newbies and pet shills.
Having gone from 353,241hits in February to 248,353 in August of 2011 (this is after a major decline in 2010) Factoidz decided to take radical action.
The new site is Knoji. That is far enough away from Factoidz as to make the average user believe, (a few months down the line when the connection will be severed) that this is a new and safe site.
Many are unaware that Knoji is Factoidz. Type www.factoidz.com into your browser.
Guess what will load? Knoji.
Repentance say you?
The same articles that were written by "Members" on Factoidz, (Members can not write articles, hence these were written when the Member was a Writer/Staff Writer) are written by Members on Knoji.
These articles ought have been deleted.
As is clear from the email quoted in the first paragraph, Knoji is Factoidz in another incarnation. It operates under the same principles.
However, it is uglier, cheaper and of vastly lower quality.
Much of what was on Factoidz; the Best stuff, was written by those dropped to Members. Items were well researched and one could actually quote a Factoidz article.
Knoji is ugly. The colours are dull and there are no images. The first page of Knoji is boring and the articles are of low quality. There is nothing to read on Knoji.
Secondly, unlike the errors made on Factoidz where people could end a month earning $50, one is lucky to to end a monthwith $10 from Knoji.
As was the usual practice on Factoidz, that is, 'overpay' the new writer, get as much as possible, then drop them to member and confiscate the work, on Knoji this has been perfected.
The New writer gains a 'bonus' of a $1.00 on every new item. After about eight items this is dropped to 80c, then to 40c, then to 20c, then to 10c.
Considering how few hits an article on Knoji gets, and how many hits it takes to reach a whole One Cent, one earns more on Hubpages; even on Triond.
Unlike Hubpages and Triond, Knoji captures your copyright. Knoji claims that 10c it paid you is for the article you wrote.
You can believe this article or not. You can join Knoji, or not. If you join you find out everything I wrote is true.
You have been warned.
