Making an icon for your website

Ever seen how some websites have that little icon next to the URL, in the title bar at the top of the browser, and next to them in your favorites? You can have that on your site too with easy All you need is a FAVICON.  A favicon is a 16x16 pixel image in the .ico format.

To display this icon, you first need access to the HTML code your page generates. In the HEAD tag, place this meta tag:

  <link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="./images/favicon.ico" />

in the href=" " section, replace it with the URL to your .ico file. That's it! You now have the icon for your website.

Now if you need help making this .ico file or want to convert an existing image to a .ico file, then use this Favicon generation site. It will allow you to either draw a custom image or upload an image and convert it to the appropriate dimensions and colors.
