Ecosol Powerstick USB Powered Universal Portable Charger Review

Updated on July 8, 2014

You spend a day running errands. Since you are out of pocket everyone calls your cell phone to chat and ask for favors. Tired of listening and tired of running you decide to watch a few YouTube videos. Rested after laughing out loud you decide to check the online price for a new MP3 player. Whoops – your cell phone battery is almost drained and you have another couple of hours to go before it can be plugged into its charger. Normally this would be a stressful event unless you have a portable charger with you.

There are many options but the Ecosol Powerstick USB Powered Universal Portable Charger could be the best. The name is bigger than the gadget itself so please do not let your eyes glaze over. This is a gadget that can actually make life a little easier while on the go.

The Powerstick USB Portable Charger looks much like a USB flash drive and is similar in size to a stick of gum (just thicker). A fresh charge is accomplished via the USB connector found under the cap. Any laptop or desktop can provide “juice” to the Powerstick and during those 90 minutes of charge time a small liquid crystal display keeps track of the progress.

Care is required when recharging batteries inside of our electronic gadgets. We have all heard the horror stories of battery fires and other mishaps. The Ecosol Powerstick actually has an integrated microcontroller that insures charging efficiency as well as protection for battery stability. The Powerstick uses a Lithium Polymer battery which is less likely to cause fires than the typical lithium-ion batteries.

The Powerstick provides a power solution for any gadget that has a voltage output of 4.5 – 5.5V. Nine dongles are included that work with cell phones such as Sony, LG, Nokia, Samsung and Blackberry and devices such as an iPod. One dongle has a Mini-USB connector. Cell phones – yes and MP3 players – yes. Laptops require an output of 16V so don’t even go there.

We all want to look cool even when in need. The Ecosol Powerstick USB Powered Universal Portable Charger looks respectable when plugged into our gadgets. One end of the dongle plugs into the end of the Powerstick and the other end plugs into the gadget. Everything can be held in the palm of your hand and most observers will never see it – unless you want them to.
