Novelty Phones

Updated on July 11, 2017

I know more and more people are doing away with a home telephone and switching to cellphones. Just look at the fun you'll be missing if you totally eliminate your home telephone.  The one exception below is the one cellphone accessory I have featured.

Novelty phones make really fun gift ideas for someone that has everything or you just can't seem to find something unique for.

If you are a collector or anything you are likely to find a telephone in that theme for your collection.

Phones can also add some spice to your home décor particularly with themed phones or the retro phones. What an inexpensive way to jazz up a room and create a conversation piece (pun intended).  Everyone will be asking where you got that really cool phone!

Pink Fur & Rhinestone Phone

This is a very popular pink fur and rhinestone phone. It's perfect for the little princess in your family. It's the phone little girls (and some big girls!) dream of having in their bedroom.

Retro 1920s Candlestick Phone

I love the look of the candlestick phone from the 20s. Of course, you always see them in the movies running to grab one of these and having to lift the entire phone because the cord is so short between the base and the receiver. You certainly couldn't cradle this in the crook of your neck and talk for hours.

Novophone & Yubz Retro Receiver for Cellphones

Today's cellphone really have become quite tiny. The days of bulky receivers are long gone. However, wouldn't it be great to have all of the advantages of a cellphone, yet still have that big retro receiver? Someone has created just that product. Check it out. Novophone and Yubz has created a handset that is designed like the retro home phone receivers that plugs into your cellphone. It fits most 2.5 millimeter jacks, but some require an adapter. Check before buying.

Hamburger & Fries

What every teenager loves, hamburgers, no wait, cheeseburgers and fries! Guess you could say this is all a bit cheesy.

Surprise your teenager with a cheeseburger telephone or an order of fries telephone. If we can a drink phone and a toy phone we might just be able to make a Happy Meal. However, I'm not sure what one teenager needs with four phones. I guess if you had four kids that might work. But, who am I kidding, they'd never share one Happy Meal.

Neon Phone

This really a cool phone. There's just something really cool about neon. It comes in several colors to match any room scheme.

And yes, the neon area flashes when the telephone rings!

More Novelty Phone Ideas

One of the very first things little girls like playing with of mommy's makeup is her lipstick. What a cute idea for a little girl's room, or even a big girl's room! A Hot Lips Telephone!

Lots of southern homes like to decorate their kitchens in that country look. They enjoy finding antique kitchen gadgets and colanders and it can really jazz up a kitchen. What about a retro country wall phone for the authentic country look?

Every family has at least one Star Wars fan. What about giving them a R2D2 from Star Wars. Who could resist a cute robot for a telephone?

Another popular decorating theme is the Victorian look with black and white and often a vibrant third color. My daughter chose a hot pink to accent her black and white room. What about adding a black porcelain phone for that Victorian look?

This is an usual phone. I know several people who collect anything related to Coca-Cola. They would love this Coca-Cola inspired telephone in green glass.

I've been to a house that had a novelty payphone installed on their wall in their playroom. I love the look of this red payphone to hang on your wall. Wouldn't it look great in a game-room next to dartboard?
