Not being able to post Fiverr links on Hubpages
I've been using Fiverr and also HubPages for a while now, and only recently I've notice something strange about using the two in conjunction with each other. This strange occurrence is that you can no longer promote your Fiverr gig on HubPages.
In all honesty, I don't understand why this is. We all know that HubPages is a great way to promote your own website. Many people use it to promote their money making websites and local business' so what's the difference between doing that and posting in a link from Fiverr? Either way, you're still making money by putting the link into your Hub. It's not as if Fiverr is a spammy site. It's a well respected site for free lancers to do small bits and bobs.
The question is though, is this the beginning of the end for promoting your own website on HubPages. If, at a certain time the site owners decide to pull the plug on promoting any websites, do you think people will still use it? I'd be inclined to believe that the user base could fall by up to half, which would obviously have a detrimental effect on the site owners since it'll result in less revenue for them.
If you couple this with the reduction in traffic already due to the Google updates, it could be a disastrous move for HubPages. I seriously hope that they do allow the the use of Fiverr links in Hubs again, so it'll help a lot of sellers from there, as long as it isn't abused of course!
It would be interesting though to see how many people did actually use Fiverr links on here before the removed the opportunity to do so. I would point out that they do let you publish a Hub with the link in it, but then they pull the Hub down since it's classed as overly promotional. It really is a shame, and I do hope the admins see this so they can shine some light on it.
