Review of the waterproof and shockproof Panasonic Lumix FT2/TS2 camera
TS2/FT2 Panasonic Lumix specifications
The panasonic lumix digital camera FT2/TS2; A shockproof and waterproof camera; Easy to understand definitions of camera functions.
4.6 Optical Zoom with image stability - Optical zoom is actually using a lens, to focus and enlarge the picture - this is generally considered better than digital zoom. Digital Zoom is an enhancement which is only as good as the computer running it and generally loses image quality to enlarge the picture.
14 Megapixels - Virtually means how big you can "blow" the picture up, without losing image quality. The minimum amount of megapixels you can purchase on the market right now is 6 Megapixels. Megapixels gives quality to the picture, a pixel is a square shape that helps make up the picture you see in the photo. Megapixels are a million pixels this camera has 14 million pixels per photo.
Megapixels isn't always good. We had a camera that had 8 Megapixels however this wasn't good in low light situations, leaving the picture grainy and image unfocussed.
In the case of the 14 Megapixels, I can honestly say, I love my Panasonic Lumix FT2.
10m/33ft Waterproof - The underwater photo I have in my photos, is in about a foot of water, and looks amazing. I don't do scuba diving, and if you do use it in salt water it is in the manual for looking after it to wash it in fresh water for 10 minutes afterwards.
2m/6.6ft Shockproof - It will cope with a 2 metre drop. We haven't dropped ours yet but the sales clerk mentioned that he has seen one thrown and picked up and used. Ours survived a very gruelling motorbike ride in which 11 of the teeth on a sprocket were sheared clean off.
A function for photographing food, which I am yet to test out.
There's 26 different settings, including the above mentioned setting for food.
You can tag people on the camera so it recognises who the photo is taken of. I still have to tag when I transfer them to Facebook.

This camera has brilliant photo qualit, quick capture, good solid camera for putting in the handbag ready for happy snaps everywhere. Pack it with picnic, pack for the camping trip. I think this camera might be husband proof!Time will tell but I think we are on a winner.
Generally photo's wash me out whiter than Edward Cullen of Twighlight. I look so pale and sick using automatic functions on most camera's. However without changing my sun habits and my skin still has very low levels of melanin, this camera the panasonic lumix FT2, has been giving some very flattering shots of my skin tone.
This snapshot camera is heaps of fun, we don't have to worry about a whole lot about it. It survived New Years Eve around clumsy young adults, and liquids. Didn't need to be worried about the liquids or it falling from the table.
The video function is also fun, whilst it's probably not going to be better than a video camera, however you will get enough good footage standing still to embarrass your friends. If you move to much it pixalates a little bit however if you keep it steady you get a clear picture.
