Samsung Galaxy Beam (Price $800 Rs:40000)

This is a new generation phone with an Integrated DLP Pico Projector. It is for the first time a company comes up with a smartphone with such good quality projector integrated. It is sure that in future smartphones surely there will be projectors embedded. As this size of the screen cannot be increased beyond a limit, in future for entertainment purpose new technologies like projector, augmented reality should come. See details of the phone

Operating system (Android 2.3 Gingerbread)

It is running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread version. It is one of the most stable version of Android. This new projector operation is achieved through an inbuilt app in Android.

Processor (1GHz Dual core processor)

It is powered by 1GHZ dual core processor. It offers superb processing power. But some users have the complaint that their phone is a bit slow. But it can be due to other problems. This processing power will enable you to run apps requiring the processing power of a desktop. Soon this phone will be getting Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich update also. Its configuration is adaptable for running Android 4.0. But it lacks separate GPU. So rendering High graphics games may be a bit slow.

RAM (384MB RAM and 512MB ROM 16GB internal storage)

RAM in this phone is not that superb. It is the only factor that is slowing the phone. It is not at all good for a dual core phone. But you can overcome this problem by using proper task killing apps and RAM cleaning options. 512MB ROM is able to withstand icecream sandwich. 16GB internal storage is really good. As it is expandable using microSD card upto 32GB, data storage will not be a problem. There is no need to limit installing apps due to shortage in memory, as in previous phones of Samsung.

Camera (Primary-8MP Auto focus LED flash, Secondary-VGA)

Camera is just superb, one which you can find only in high end smartphones only. In camera itself, options like Geo-tagging, face, blink, smile detction etc are available. This phone is able to capture 720p HD video. Front camera is of VGA quality and makes the phone capable of video calling.

Screen (9.7 inch Super AMOLED Capacitive touch screen)

This display is of supreme quality. It is of resolution 400x800 pixel. Pixel density of 252 ppi offers good quality display. User interface is Projector UI with Samsung's custom user interface touchWiz. Handwriting recognition is also available in the phone.

Battery(1800mAh Lithium Battery)

Battery is capable of taking the overload of projector. It requires more power to run projector for a long time. In incorporating the additionally large battery and projector, the size of the phone is increased. Its thickness is 12.5mm. But Samsung claims that the weight of the phone is average only.
