Sprint HTC Evo 4G Tech/Specs
What is your idea of a typical smartphone? It has a 3G connection, a faster processor for browsing e-mail, maybe a 5 megapixel camera with a flash, and a few other things that bring it beyond a standard flip phone. However, the new HTC Evo 4G is about to make all other phones seem like just that, a normal flip phone.
There is so much to be said about the new HTC Evo 4G that it is hard to find a place to start. I will start with software features, then move to hardware.
The HTC Evo 4G uses a combination of two software programs, the Android OS and HTC Sense. The Android OS is Google's mobile OS, which has been used on phones such as the Verizon Droid and Sprint's HTC Hero. The Android OS is a little like the iPhone OS in the way that it has a large amount of apps to download. It is also a more "open" OS, as normal people can download software to make their own apps, unlike the iPhone, where a license is needed to make any sort of app or software.
It also has HTC's special software, called HTC Sense. This alters the Android user interface and provides a more user friendly way to interact with the phone. It adds a bunch of apps and widgets, and makes the phone easier to personalize to your tastes. And, on top of that, it adds a bunch of eye candy that makes it sort of identical to the iPhone. You can scroll through music by flicking your finger, and messages fly in and off the page. This improves the already existing Android OS quite a bit, and makes it one software conglomerate that rivals the iPhone OS.
While the HTC Evo 4g has some great software features, it's true forte lies in it's hardware. In fact, it is hard to think of something that this phone doesn't have built into it's slim exterior. It weighs 6.0 oz, and is 4.8 inches tall, 2.6 inches wide, and only 0.5 inches thick. This phone is equipped with a 4.3 inch TFT LCD capacitive touch screen, which makes browsing internet pages much easier. It has two cameras, one is a 8 megapixel with a dual LED flash, and another 1.3 megapixel camera on the front of the phone. It is also equipped with a whopping 1 ghz processor and 512 mb of RAM. This means that the phone will be able to load and store information in an incredibly short amount of time. And last but not least, it is able to connect to Sprint's 4g network, which can download 3.6 megabytes of information a second.
It also has a slew of smaller features as well. The phone has a 3.5 mm jack, which is good if you like to listen to music. It has a kickstand for those who like to watch movies without actually holding the phone. It comes with an 8gb micro sd card, but it can be upgraded to 32 gigabytes. It is equipped with a digital compass, g-sensors, proximity sensors, and light sensors.
Get it Now!
I have no doubt that this is the latest and greatest phone right now. However, as is the case with all technology, it will soon be overshadowed by some other phone. The iPhone is scheduled to come out at around the same time, and who knows what Apple has planned for their piece of technology. Still, this phone promises to be a contender with a load of features that won''t disappoint.
