Best Cool Tech Gift Ideas for 2012 - 2013

After consulting with some our tech savvy friends we've come up with a list of the best tech gifts for 2012 - 2013.

These tech gifts are the best selling and highest rated products in each of their categories. Those who are tech savvy generally want the newest and greatest thing anyway so hopefully by breaking them down into categories it saves you some time.

In 2012 a lot of awesome new devices will be coming out. You'll see the Nintendo 3ds. This predecessor to the DSI will allow you to have a 3d experience without those dorky old glasses. You'll also see the iPad 2, and the Verizon iPhone. While we're all excited for these to come out, there are still a ton of tech gifts for you to look at.

Tech Gifts - 3D HDTV, Blu-ray, and Projector

In 2012, we've already seen the price for 3d gear come down after Christmas. The consumer will have many more reasons to get 3d technology for their household this year. Sony will be coming out with it's new Sony Vaio 3d laptop and gaming in 3d will become more commonplace. For now, if you don't have 3d technology here are some great places to start.

The Samsung 46 Inch UN46c8000 is where you should start your quest for 3d television. I decided on a Samsung because in each 3D category they seem to be the highest rated by consumers right now not to mention that I've had great experiences with my Samsung TVs in the past.

240hz Clear Motion Rate

You thought your 120hz was great, but 240hz is literally life like. WIth 120 hz there was still a chance that you could see a motion blur while watching television, but with 240hz nothing will distract you from that great action movie or sporting event that you're watching.

3d Ready

Are you ready for the 3d experience? Bundle this HDTV with the featured Sony 3d Blu-ray Disc player for the real deal, it's on sale for a great price right now.

Are TVs too small for you?

Try this amazing 3d Projector from Optoma. While It will be possible to find a 1080p 3d projector in 2011, be prepared to fork over a lot of cash. This 720p 3D projector still has an amazing picture at as large of a screen as you want.

High Tech Gift Ideas for 2012 - 2013

Nothing is worse than having 4-5 remotes sitting around your house and not being able to find the one that controls exactly what you need.

The Solution?

The solution to your remote control problem lies with this amazing universal remote control from Logitech.

One Touch

With one touch you can switch between any of the devices that you are using (up to 15!).

Your Brand

This universal remote works with over 5,000+ electronic brands and is compatible with over 225,000 devices.

Here's what one buyer had to say about the Logitech Harmony One Universal Remote:

"Programming custom buttons for devices is very easy. I like to control the volume on my television while the remote is in Tivo mode, so I simply used the TV remote to program the volume buttons on the Harmony One Remote for the specific TV I will use. This procedure is as simple as lining up the two remotes and clicking the button you are configuring, then letting the Logitech software do its magic!

So far, I have configured a variety of devices with this remote easily: TVs, TiVos, DVD players, VCR, Cable Boxes, and an A/V receiver. None were problematic, and all work very well. I highly recommend the Harmony One Remote for anyone who wants to combine all their remotes to one and prefers ease of configuring. Oh, and it looks pretty sharp, too. Especially with my own photographs downloaded to run a pretty screensaver!"
