The Best Laptop I Ever Owned

Toshiba Satellite L505D

The best laptop I have ever owned is the Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5965. In fact it is first and only laptop I have ever owned. Although the Toshiba Satellite L505D is the only laptop I have ever had I am very glad I bought it.

I got my laptop from Best Buy a few years ago at the end of 2009 when many of the laptop brands were going on sell to make room for the new models to come. I researched quite a bit before I went about purchasing a laptop.

Under $500

I wanted a laptop for school that was under $500 and had a good rating from some of the top tech consumer review websites. With my research I found that a Toshiba laptop would best fit my needs and budget.

At the store I looked over and tried out a few of the floor models. I then had to choose between the Toshiba Satellite L505D and another Toshiba laptop. I narrowed down my decision to one factor, being that one laptop had a webcam and the other did not.

I chose to save a few bucks and bought the model without the webcam, the Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5965. The price tag was about $460 and near $500 with tax. So, I happily stayed under my budget.

The Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5965 has a 15.6" widescreen HD LCD display with a headphone and microphone jack. There is also a CD/DVD drive, 2 USB ports and 1 eSATA/USB combo port. The laptop weights about 6 pounds and comes with a Li-Ion battery with a 1 year warranty.

Once at home with my brand new laptop, I booted up and read through some of the manual material that came with the package. My Toshiba laptop came installed with Windows Vista and an option to upgrade to Windows 7 for free.

I decided to sign up for the free upgrade and sent away for it in the mail. I got my free copy of Windows 7 some weeks later and installed it with no problems whatsoever. I have been using Windows 7 on my PC ever since and only had a few minor issues with the OS, like with adding Windows updates.

Works Wonderfully

My laptop has not needed any repairs nor have I had any major problems with my Toshiba. I think this laptop is great because I can watch DVD's, run other applications and play 3D games on it. I also like to use a wireless mouse with my laptop because I am not too fond of using the tap mouse pad.

Overall, the great price I think I paid for my laptop along with the fact that I was able to install Windows 7 with no problems rounds up the top reasons why the Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5965 is the best laptop I have ever owned.
