Its easy to upgrade you video card, and very effective if you want your pc to run your browser, and even for computer games, the video card is more than essential to upgrade your pc to get better performance.
Laptop Video cards
If you have a laptop your stuffed. Individual computer parts can't be upgraded easily with a laptop, as they are built from custom designs by the manufacturer. The only thing you will be able to do which might help if you are a video producer is to buy a device that can process data via the firewire or USB.

If you have a desktop PC, then it will be easy to upgrade your video card, once you get some system details from you PC.
You will need to know what type of slots you have available on you motherboard so you video card can slot into the right one.
You will have to open the case, and check for either
- ISA - Is a long black slot that is really only found on pc's older than 3 years now.
- PCI - Is common as a small white rectangle.
- AGP - Is a graphics dedicated slot, just for graphics cards.
The AGP slot is preferred, however with new competition between AGP, and PCI, with each releasing faster speeds of connection slots, then it can easily change to PCI. Check the comparison of price, and of the speed for both models, as most video cards have a similar model in either PCi or AGP.
It might be that you also want to replace the graphics card that is already there, and if it is in the AGP slot, then perfect, you can just buy a new video card slot it in, and game away.
You will need to make sure there is enough room in your PC case for the video card too. Sometimes they can take up a lot of space, and if you have a thin desktop case, then you might find difficulty in this.
