Verizon Palm Pre Plus Quick Reveiw
So I posted a blog on picking out the right cell phone and showed you how I went about it. I decided to get the Palm Pre Plus from Verizon for $49.99 with a new 2 year contract. Since I’ve read both good and bad reviews on the phone, I decided to write my own!
I received my phone by mail on Tuesday (10-12-10). I opened the box, which was so cute by the way, and there was my Palm! It came with a small slip case, headphones and a USB charger. To my surprise it was quite smaller than other smart phones out there. Its appearance is not like other phones and it is both sleek and attractive. It’s not overly manly or to girly, it’s right in the middle with a little pizzazz. It took about 7 minutes to start up which I guess its normal for smart phones. Once turned on, it prompts you to set up a Palm account. You just provide an e-mail address and a password. The initial setting up is very easy even if you have never had a smart phone before.
After setting everything up I began to play around with the phone. I first tried calling someone to test the call quality. To my surprise… I got a defective phone! The mic didn’t work so no one could hear me! I took it up to Verizon and with not hassle they replaced it.
I then tried to test the call quality again and I must say, it is very clear. I read many reviews on the call quality begin poor but not on my Palm! I live in Northern Ohio, and I know the quality of any cell phone changes in different areas. Check Verizon’s map before getting a smart phone to make sure your located where the reds at!
Onto the other features…
It takes great pictures and videos. The videos can be e-mailed and uploaded on youtube.com with just a few touches. *There is an update you must do to ensure your phone has the latest fixins’. You just go to the menu and swipe to the last menu and you will see a gift box. Just click that! The update takes about 10 minutes or so.
The “touch” is also very good and accurate. It is very sensitive so you don’t need to push down hard at all. It even comes with a lesson to show you how to swipe around! I figured this out on my own, but to delete something you swipe over it and it will say delete or cancel.
The apps aren’t as bad as people think. There is around 4,000 apps and they plan to add more daily so no worries. You will be able to choose from useful to completely unnecessary apps. I have a few games and some radios on my Palm so far. The radio single for Pandora is very good!
This phone does a lot of things but it is not overwhelming at all! I would highly recommend the Palm Pre Plus to anyone. I think its better than the DROID! Yeah, I SAID! The call quality on that phone is garbage!
Anyways…
I give the Palm Pre Plus from Verizon 5 out of 5!
I love it! : )
