Really useful, and needs to be shared, I personally have never bought any kind of security package ever, and have pretty much used spybot only, never had one problem that it could not fix.

Thank you @Tapasrecipe for visiting my hub here, and I'm happy to see that you enjoyed its, and found it of use to you as well.

Spybot was the first online tool I used ever and it saved my computing life many years back, I saved 1000's of dollars due to it, and won't stop using it, plus its free.

Just set up a new computer and have not been able to move my favorite (paid for) anti-virus programs. (I do have protection, of course just not my favorite.) Thanks for the reminder of the importance of this type of program. I will try one or two of your recommended free-ware programs.

Mike,

You're reading my mind. I've used the paid version of Avast for quite some time. It reads programs as they try to enter your computer and stops them instead of most that allow them in and then does battle. And, you're right, the boot up scan works amazingly well! CCleaner is tremendous, especially when going from hub to hub. I use it almost once a day to keep things cleaned out and operating properly. Spybot also is a friend of mine, and has been for a few years. Haven't tried Advanced Systems Care. Since you vouch for it, I'll definitely check it out. Another great hub, my friend! Great Job!
