Weather Resistant and Waterproof Digital SLR (DSLR)
Weather Proof Waterproof...100% Proof
Outdoor activities go hand in hand with photography. My recent "adventures" in mountain climbing and trekking off the beaten tracks has made me realize the importance of carrying a rugged digital camera. Once I was able to trek into a hidden lake in a nearby volcano in our area but didn't get the chance to get a proper shot because of the steady rain shower. If only I had a camera that can withstand inclement weather but still can capture the best possible quality of pictures.
There are of course the many compact cameras that claim to be waterproof, dustproof and shockproof. But these digital cameras just do not have the muscle power to get "real" images. Of course a picture of a moment is better than no picture at all. BUT. BUT. If it is within your power to bring the right digital camera... then why not?
So here I am banging on my keyboard to make it known to everybody (hehehe!) my Top 5 weather resistant DSLRS in the market. It would seem that I am biased in selecting my list from Pentax. It would be prudent on my part to choose the everything from Pentax because I have handled them all except for the Pentax K-5. Canon and Nikon actually claim units that are weather resistant. Still I am hesistant to include them because they never had a good record for affordable weather resistant digital SLR cameras. Some that are weather resistan are tagged with exhorbitant prices. Pentax on the other hand has an excellent track record. Even their lenses are weather resistant.
Here's a list of these cameras. They are linked to my favorite camera review site.

Now this is a camera I used to shoot during a rain. While the Nikons took shelter... Pentax was out shooting.
A trusted friend owns one and swears by it. There's a reason why the most beautiful ladies choose a Pentax.
I've handled a K10D and believe me it's one hell of a camera. The main pic of this hub is a K10D.
