The Apple iPad - Features, Specs and Pricing

simply gorgeous!
simply gorgeous!

Welcome to tomorrow

Finally! Apple has released not just the blue prints for its much-gossiped iPad but the real deal itself. After so much conspiracy theories and much scrambling from competitors, the iPad is on its way to making manifest what all the techie geeks and fashionistas have been dreaming about. It's here. Now.

.

Features

Screen
The iPad touts an expansive Multi-Touch screen that works from any orientation and allows viewing of the whole web page at a time. It also brags of vibrant colors and crispt text. So no more squinting and cursing under your breath. The web is viewable and readable as it should be. But it doesn't end there. As it is touch-screen, navigation is also made easier for the finger - with just a flick you can go up and down, from thumbnails to zooms.

Mail
One-way viewing of your emails is also no more. The iPad allows viewing in landscape, portrait and split-screen. It also has a keyboard for composing you own. And of course, it also works well with virtually all the email providers known to man.

Photos
The photo viewing application is also masterful. Scanning through each picture is fun experience as it bundles pictures not in an album format but in stacks. The iPad also functions as a digital photo frame which could come in handy while it is charging or simply docked.

Video
Your choice of full-screen or wide-screen. No buttons in sight. All HD all the time.

Apple Apps
And if the features above aren't enough to whet your appetite, iPad comes with Apple's lineup of applications to sync wiyh your other Apple gadgets - iPod, iTunes, iBooks etc.

But wait, there's more!
Applications, that is. There's applications for Satellite and Street View images/maps, notes, a dedicated YouTube app, calendar and scheduler, and contacts organizing.
