What is FLO TV?

How did I miss this!

I must admit, I am an electronics nut. I am a sucker for the latest gadget or the newest version of anything electronic. I don't know how many cell phones I have had in a never ending quest to find the perfect one. I also like to think that I am fairly on top of what the market has to offer. Imagine my surprise then when I saw the first FLO TV commercial during the Superbowl. I had never even heard of Flo TV. How did I miss such a revolutionary new gadget!

What is FLO TV?

FLO is mobile TV at the touch of a button. It's TV on the go. The FLO TV Personal Television is a small, portable device that allows to to watch TV on the go just like you do at home. I'm not talking about downloaded sound bites or previews. These are full length films, programs and news. You can change channels in about 2 seconds - just like at home. Among the channel lineup are ABC, CBS, Disney, MTV, TLC, ESPN and CNN as well as many more. FLO TV is actually a service - much like your cellular telephone service. IN fact, you can subscribe to FLO TV and receive service through some telephones used by AT&T and Verizon. The reception, picture, and ease of use are well worth the price of the Personal Television. You have a menu just like your TV at home and can search, switch channels and adjust the image and sound just like at home. This device is perfect for the kids on a long road trip! I just had to run out to the nearest store to see one for myself. I must say that the actual device is incredible light and small, but the picture was incredible! I have ordered my and will report back when I have a few weeks under my belt of playing with it!

How Much Does It Cost?

FLO TV offers monthly plans as well as yearly plans. If you pay monthly, it runs about $15 a month. If you choose to prepay for a year you will pay about $150 - essentially getting two months free.

Can I Get Service Everywhere?

No...just like your cellular telephone, there are areas where you will not receive a signal or where the reception will be poor. According to their coverage map though, you shouldn't have any more problems with FLO TV than you have with a major cell phone carrier's reception.

Very interesting hub. I have never heard of this before either. It's amazing at the things we have available to us and not even know it. Thanks for sharing this.

Isn't it amazing Nancy! I've usually at least HEARD of something before I see it on a Superbowl commercial but this one came out of no where for me!
