How has the internet changed your life?

The Internet has changed my life in many ways. Communication is near-instant and the ability to create and send original creations and projects across the world in the blink of an eye is astounding. The best thing for me, however, is the fact that I can be a published author and have a great community of followers and readers who comment and bring my efforts to life.

Sure there are viruses, spam and the like, but there are so many good people writing interesting things, especially here on HubPages. Writing something original, having someone comment on it, and then having the possibility of making a little money while doing it, well, that's priceless to me!

It's allowed me to connect with like minded persons that live in far away places.  It's also allowed me to connect with persons with "interesting but different" views in far away places.

It's also allowed me a new and unique form of self expression, and art - as seen here on Hubpages.

Many many ways.  I live in a rural area so I can shop and find what I need online.  Also, information!  I used to save up things I wanted to look up and then head to the library.  Now, if I wonder about something--I can instantly find information online.  It is like having a library in the house.

yes internet has given me a complete access to the correct answers to many questions and hopefully in the future this will lead to a income.the benefit of the internet has saved me lots of money by sourcing products at a lesser price and the information for me to be able to make and repair things myself.
I would think that the main benefit would  be for people who have a limited ability to get out of the house.

Most importantly is the ability to keep in touch with family. I live in a foreign country and it's much easier to stay in touch via email and social networking sites than via telephone and post. Also, friends that I thought I'd never see again still talk to me regularly. That would have been impossible 20 years ago.

It's also great to be able to access information instantly. Growing up I didn't have access to things like wiki, which would have helped me with research projects. Ebooks are a wonderful way to learn new things without having to track down the paper edition in a library or in a shop.

Finally, if I need a paper edition of a book or anything else for that matter. I can find it online. Often for less than in local shops.

How many mums could stay at home and make a decent living 20yrs ago?

I've been able to start (and manage a sml company) in between school runs and bath times...love it.

It allows me to stay in touch with distant friends and family and share all type of information with them. It's also an infinite source of knowledge, it's possible to find almost everything.

On one hand the internet has made my life easier.  If I'm trying to type a term paper at the last minute the crucial facts and quotes are just a few keystrokes away.  Another benefit is how easy it is to stay in touch with people.

The downside is I think some days I have a computer addiction and I choose to spend my free time on the computer instead of being out and about enjoying the real world.
