   no, a computer can be programmed to do just about anything but it does not feel emotion.  I believe this would prevent it from being able to have all of the same capabilities as the human brain.

   possible is a big word. everything is possible and I mean it. the core is 'time' and not 'possibility'. u already know that our brain is nothing bt a giant lump of neurons. we can definitely create it. it May not be inside a skull as little as ours but eventually it will be done.

   @ daskittlez69, your right about that and maybe I should have phrased my question a little better. I meant the adaptive thinking and learning without help. But the human  brain is a little like a big circuit board and the neurotransmitters and hormones that steer our emotions could be replaced by some kind of electrical signal
   
   @ kksonakiya, Theoretically maybe but how long do you think it will take, 100 years? 1000 years?. But practically not everything is possible in my opinion. Like time travelling, lost of people think we will eventually do it, yet nobody has a clue on how to do it. But I get your point of view.

   equally intelligent, possibly, I'm sure someone can create something to mimic their every action thought and memory.  Not at this exact moment in time but I'd say 10 - 15 years down the road someone could possibly be able to create such a thing, which maybe if they have a learning algorithm in place it could possibly than become more intelligent per say than the human.
   
   Although intelligence is not something in which one can really define. Do you define intelligence by an IQ test? Or is it defined by how well someone can socially interact with others and understand other peoples' emotions. It's a very thin line there and not very clearly defined so it's tough to have a true answer to this. Obviously you can create a machine that would be dominant in one section, such as the robot that was undefeated in Chess.

   There is a limitation to this currently; a computer/program is only as smart as the programmer(s) that designed it.
   
   When we can make computers that learn and adapt, then yes, very much so. Until then, however, no.
   
   Speaking capability wise, a computer that is programmed to do something is almost always faster than a human. Try doing a complex calculus problem in your head and time it. Then plug it in to MathCad; instant answer.

   there is still a long way to go. i don't think it's possible. but with the help of AI i think humans can make better and informed decisions.
