   Have you ever upgraded your PC or Mac with new hardware (RAM, hard drives CPU upgrades, etc..)?
   
   If so, what was your experience with the process of upgrading your computer, how much background knowledge did you have beforehand, what research did you do in preparation, etc...?

   I have upgraded my PC on multiple occasions, both past and present. I've added or installed new hard drives, graphics cards, RAM, CPU's, upgrading Windows versions, and so many other things. I love computers, and technology in general, and I find working on computers to be fun and exciting. I have extensive knowledge on, well... everything that has to do with computers. My father was a graphic design artist and did quite a bit of web designing and programming.
   After my parents split up my mother met who is now my step father. At the time he was attending college classes in pursuit of a degree in electronics engineering. After obtaining his degree he was hired on as a tech admin for the college he went to, and is now the lead tech admin for the school.
   I rarely have to research in order to prepare for upgrading. I have been raised into the world of technology. I've watched my father and step father work on computers, and seeing that my whole life taught me so much. In many ways it is like working on a car, mostly because watching it being done is the best way to learn.
   
   The picture you have sent looks like a memory module used for either a Mac or laptop. Do you have any questions in regard to it? I'll be more than happy to help.

   I am a 55 year old woman with very little mechanical ability. I added RAM to my Dell Dimension 4550, and also replaced the hard drive on my daughter's Dell Laptop. I ordered the parts on Dell's website and looked instructions up on the internet. It was pretty easy. The hardest part was getting the case open on the Dimension, it was easy once I understood how. If I can do it, you can too. No fear.

   I am pathologically unable to sit back and not upgrade my computers. Sometimes upgrading laptops requires a bit of research, for example if they have RAM slots on both sides of the motherboard. But it's amazing what you can find on YouTube in terms of disassembling tutorials. The main component can't keep my fingers away from is the hard drive, to swap it for an SSD. Those boot and load speeds really grow on you.
