I "+" everything - every hub, every blog post, every video. I have not seen a substantial traffic boost from Google+ to my HubPages posts, through I can see in my Google Web Master Tools that I have helped to drive traffic to my other sites. The key, from my understanding, to using Google+ successfully is how you manage your "circles" aka friends. You can have tidbits that you add to Google+ show to select groups of people or be public. Personally, I have my setting to share everything with everyone, but I am not using the full social media functionality of the site, just the ability to add via G+. Knowing the site's demographics is also helpful. So I guess the answer would be that it is a good tool if you use it to your advantage.
