   How much do you pay for TV/Phone/Internet where you live?
   
   After the 'special deal' expires my bundled tv/phone/internet will cost me $157 a month here in Chicago.  I just learned that this bundle that is offered in places like France is a third of the cost and to top it off, their internet service is 20 times faster.  The US is ranked somewhere around 28th in the world for internet speed, phone service, and TV.  How can this be?

   Hi, I live in France and I pay about 80 euros a month to France Telecom (Orange) for illimited  internet and fix phone.  The package also includes illimited calls/SMS/internet on my mobile phone and limited tv service.

      Wow, that's about 40 euros less than what I pay.  I think I have fast internet through my cable company but I guess I'll have to come to France to compare how fast it really is

   I'm in south east USA and Charter cable offers a $99 bundle for cable internet and phone.

      I wonder if that is the intro price and if it goes up after a specified period.  I got mine at the intro of $89 but then after the first year it jumped to what it is now.

      Here it's $99 with no intro price. They offer premium channels for extra at a promotional price for first 3 months then raise those.

   Things could be a lot worse. I am on a waiting list for telephone service but hope to have one installed in the next year or two. It will cost about 40 a month. My TV works at times, but the only channel I care about has been off the air for a few months. The internet works with all the speed and effectiveness of the old dial-up days, and it costs 89 a month.

      I wonder if this is normal throughout your country of Brazil.  This is a very long time to wait but if you are in an isolated area, I can understand.

   $50 for phone with a shrinkage plan ($5 less every six months), $40 for internet as it is well worth it, and $9 a month for Netflix, no TV plan really.

      Thanks, this isn't really a bundle deal but these services combined are about par here in the US.

   We have a package deal that comes out to about $100 a month, but will probably be about what you're paying once the promo expires. I feel like they get away with it where we live because the cable companies have "territories" in Brooklyn, so you don't have the option of switching companies. It's gotten better over the past few years and you do have more options with who to go to for service, but still, it seems like you either pay for a company that's going to charge you an arm and a leg for decent service or you pay less and get what you pay for (slower internet, more cable interruptions, etc.) I know DishTV is big in Vegas where my brother lives, but again, I don't think you get the same service here as you would out there. That's just my take on it though.

      Seems like these companies have a monopoly of sorts when it comes to media delivery.  My biggest beef is that we are not given what we were promised and that is the fastest internet, TV anywhere, unlimited phone service.
