How Can You Remove Scratches From A CD Or DVD?
I have heard that furniture polish and a soft cloth will do the trick. ???? Worth a try.
I would just copy the info to my computer and then recopy onto a disk.
Try and find a tube of CD repair fluid, it's pretty much plastic dissolved in petroleum distillate and it fills in scratches.
Of course, if you scratched it deep enough to alter the silicon you can't change that, but 99% percent of superficial things should clear up if you follow the instructions on the bottle.
To be honest, cd scratch cannot be restored. You may damage the coding inside it if you try to. If you mean molds, then maybe you can wash it with detergent and let it dry. If the file is still there, the best thing is to make a back up copy of that cd.
you can purchase a CD/DVD buffing machine or CD/DVD repair kit online.
It does work if the scratches are not too deep.
I have heard that you could use toothpaste as the "rubbing/buffing compound" to take the scratches out of cds and dvds. Recommended was a natural toothpaste without the whitening, breath-freshening stuff that is in toothpaste these days.
Good luck!
